Kraftwerk Mitte
The Kraftwerk Mitte in Dresden was a fossil-fuelled combined heat and power plant that had existed since 1895 and was shut down in 1994 after 99 years. After the gutting of the old machine hall and the addition of a huge theatre complex as well as the construction of a new rehearsal tower, among other things, all four stages were networked, and are now completely flexible in their use. The Kraftwerk Mitte Dresden also includes the venues Theater Junge Generation and the Staatsoperette.
