DTHG
The “Deutsche Theatertechnische Gesellschaft” (DTHG) was founded in 1907. It is a professional association for all those who work in technical, technical/artistic and artistic areas of the entire cultural sphere, whether employees, freelancers, self-employed, theatres, institutions, educational institutions or entrepreneurs. The DTHG is a non-governmental organization (NGO) and an independent professional association. The DTHG association journal is the PODIUM, a bi-monthly newsletter within the BTR professional magazine for all areas of the performing arts.
The DTHG also organizes a Stage Technology Conference (BTT) every two years as a trade fair and meeting place for professionals to exchange experiences. In the intervening years, DTHG organizes the new Stage|Set|Scenery trade fair together with Messe Berlin every two years.

The Association of German Sound Engineers (VDT) is now 70 years old and one of the oldest. With almost 2,000 members it is also one of the largest professional associations in the pro-audio business. VDT nowadays represents a colourful and varied membership base. Its membership is made up of audio professionals of all ages. They are active in the fields of the recording industry, film, TV, radio, multimedia, event technology and stage and include representatives from the media, equipment industry, events, research, development and education. The biennial Tonmeistertagung (TMT), a professional convention for German and international participants, its main platform for members and non-members alike, promotes the active exchange of experiences between users, manufacturers and equipment suppliers. The 4-day event also showcases relevant pro-audio developments in technology and practice.
OETHG
The Österreichische Theatertechnische Gesellschaft (OETHG) was founded in 1973 with the aim of creating a communication platform on a national and international level and to promote the exchange of professional experiences and ideas.
It is a non-profit professional association for all employees working in the stage and event sector, as well as self-employed professionals and specialist companies. The network extends to cooperation with all major event organizations such as OISTAT, ITI, APWT, DTHG, SVPT and VPLT. Furthermore, the OETHG maintains and coordinates liaison with government agencies, media and institutions.
Every two years, the OETHG organizes the MEET – a conference combining technical presentations with a large exhibition.
